Norelem guiding elements and linear systems? Precision in every motion
Without precise motion, there can be no precise production. Linear technology is the foundation of modern automation, robotics, and mechanical engineering. Norelem, one of the leading suppliers of standardized components, offers a wide range of guiding elements and linear systems for reliable and efficient solutions in every application.

Linear technology and its importance
Linear systems are a subfield of drive technology, focused on the linear (sliding) motion of mechanical parts with minimal friction. High-quality linear guides must be capable of transmitting high lateral forces without deformation, while maintaining long service life even under demanding operating conditions.
Norelem linear systems are found in a wide variety of industries—from semiconductor manufacturing, robotics, and CNC machinery to packaging, medical, and food processing sectors. The main domain of Norelem is production automation, where these systems enable precise positioning, gripping, lifting, or rotating of manufacturing components. Each system is designed and installed according to the specific requirements of the application.
Sliding and rolling linear guides
Sliding guides (such as dovetail guides from Norelem) contain no rolling elements. Their design prevents lifting of the guiding component during rotational motion and ensures high rigidity.
Rolling guides operate based on the circulation of balls or rollers between the moving parts. Guides with a cage of rolling elements (e.g., roller chains) offer smooth and precise operation. This category includes profile rails and linear ball bearings.
The key factors for guide quality are always geometrical and positional accuracy, and long service life.
Linear ball bearings
Linear ball bearings (also known as bearing bushings or shaft guides) enable smooth sliding motion along a cylindrical shaft with minimal friction. Compared to standard bearings, they feature axial ball circulation and conform to international standard ISO 10285, series 3.
Applications: fixture manufacturing, machine tools, rail vehicles, printers, packaging machines, presses, measuring instruments, food processing, and medical technology. They are also suitable for the construction of sliding mechanisms, such as linear tables.
Guide rails with carriages
For precise horizontal and vertical positioning, Norelem offers guide rails with carriages. Their high accuracy makes them ideal for precision mechanics, optics, metrology, and fixture construction. Micrometer screws enable fine adjustment and reliable position locking.
Carriage materials:
- Cast iron (robustness, high load capacity)
- Aluminium (lightweight, ideal balance between precision and load capacity)
Carriages can be equipped with stops or micrometer screws according to application requirements.
DryLin® sliding guides
DryLin® plastic sliding guides allow completely lubrication-free motion. This not only reduces maintenance and costs, but also ensures eco-friendly operation without oils or lubricants. They are quiet and highly resistant to dust, water, chemicals, heat, and impact, demonstrating impressive robustness.
Typical applications: food industry, pharmaceuticals, cleanrooms, textile manufacturing, and printing.
