Clamping under demanding conditions
For salty and wet environments as well as demanding operating conditions: KIPP presents new cam lever variants made from high-quality and particularly resilient A4 stainless steel. These robust operating elements offer outstanding corrosion resistance and reliable functionality in particularly demanding environments, such as the chemical industry, shipbuilding and food technology.

Clamping is one of those processes that is hardly noticeable in the everyday use of many technical applications – as long as it functions reliably. Only when workpieces are frequently changed, space is limited or sensitive surfaces need to be protected does the choice of the appropriate clamping element come into focus.
KIPP is now expanding its extensive range of cam levers to include versions made from high-quality A4 stainless steel. The new variants are designed for applications in which components are exposed to adverse environmental conditions over the long term. These include applications in the chemical industry, shipbuilding, offshore applications and outdoor environments in general. A4-grade material is also ideally suited for use in the food, pharmaceutical and medical technology industries as well as in sensitive areas of machine and equipment construction.
Torque-free clamping protects surfaces
Cam levers enable secure and rapid clamping without rotational movement on the component being clamped. The clamping force is generated by a cam on the lever, which presses the thrust plate linearly onto the clamping surface. When the lever is moved back, the clamp is released. The clamping process is therefore torque-free and protects both components and their surfaces.
This functional principle is particularly advantageous in applications requiring frequent operation. Workpieces can be quickly clamped and released without additional tools. Variable force transmission allows the clamping force to be adapted to the specific application. At the same time, the cam position ensures uniform movement and consistently high clamping performance over a large number of operating cycles.
A4 stainless steel offers outstanding material properties
The new A4 stainless steel versions are intended primarily for environments in which conventional stainless steel grades reach their limits. A4 stainless steel is resistant to corrosion and acids and is also suitable for use in the vicinity of salt water. Under such conditions, components made from lower stainless steel grades such as A1 or A2 could show signs of corrosion considerably earlier. The A4 version is also non-magnetic or only slightly magnetic, which can be an important criterion in sensitive technical applications.
KIPP cam levers feature a compact design and can therefore also be used in confined installation spaces. Maintenance and replacement remain straightforward even under demanding operating conditions.
The new A4 stainless steel variants are available with internal and external threads from M3 to M10 and with inch threads from 6–32 to 3/8–16. Two surface finishes are available for the grip: “electropolished” and “abrasive blasted”.
The new cam levers complement the existing stainless steel product families K2121, K2126, K0645 and K0647, specifically expanding the KIPP portfolio for applications with increased requirements in terms of material properties, durability and long service life.
